(Translated by Google) We have had dinner there and we loved it. The food was exquisite, we had chicken curry, gyozas, rice pasta with pork and a cheesecake and it was all absolutely spectacular. They are also super friendly, charming, attentive and fast. Couldn't be better. We will repeat when we return to Paris ✨ (Original) Hemos cenado allí y nos ha encantado. La comida exquisita, cogimos curry de pollo, gyozas, pasta de arroz con cerdo y una tarta de queso y era todo absolutamente espectacular. Además son súper amables, encantadores, atentos y rápidos. Mejor imposible. Repetiremos cuando volvamos a París ✨

This was a lovely surprise, we arrived a bit late and managed to have lunch, it was delicious. The front of the house team were really good and helpful, especially the gentlemen with the ponytail. Thanks 😌👍

(Translated by Google) A nice address for this neighborhood that lacks it. The place is clean and cozy, the music is not too loud. The choice on the menu is wide, although I always have a little trouble with restaurants that offer Thai, Japanese or Chinese dishes at the same time. In any case, very little wait to be served, the fried rice/chicken was a good success - but I wouldn't recommend the Thai curry (not at all spicy and on the contrary quite sweet). Prices are fair - -> It still remains innovative and welcome in this neighborhood - a simple and effective style of address that should undoubtedly be encouraged to see others develop 👍🏼 (Original) Une adresse sympa pour ce quartier qui en manque.

In the midst of the bustling chaos that is Paris on New Year’s Eve, Mr. Zhang, tucked away on Avenue Bugeaud, offered an oasis of calm. Just a short walk from the Arc de Triomphe, the restaurant welcomed us with a warmth that felt almost out of place on such a frantic day. While many establishments near major landmarks focus on quick turnover, Mr. Zhang takes its time—inviting you to do the same. We noticed this immediately in the service. Despite the fully booked tables and the palpable energy of the day, the staff exhibited a quiet grace, treating us as though we were the only guests there. No one hurried us to order, and no subtle glances hinted that our table was needed for the next group. Instead, they gave us what every diner craves but rarely gets: time. This unhurried pace allowed us to savor the journey that Mr. Zhang’s menu offers. We began with a bottle of Côtes du Rhône, a lovely companion to the array of starters we chose. The ebi shrimp tempura arrived golden and crisp, with just the right amount of seasoning to let the freshness of the shrimp shine. A teriyaki sauce, perfectly balanced between sweet and savory, added a delicate touch. But the real stars of the opening act were the dim sum. Dim sum can sometimes be predictable, but at Mr. Zhang, they’re a revelation. The beef dim sum, served with a subtly balanced soy sauce, was a highlight. I’m not usually one for soy sauce, but this was different—light, aromatic, and elevating the flavors rather than overpowering them. These dumplings were so good that we briefly entertained the idea of ordering a second round. Perhaps a bucket of them wouldn’t have been excessive after all. The appetizers, reasonably priced between €7 and €12, set the bar high, and yet the main courses rose to meet it. I opted for duck with broccoli in the chef’s special sauce. The dish had a hint of peanut, adding depth and a touch of sweetness that complemented the perfectly cooked duck. Every bite was a reminder of why I love this city and its culinary diversity. Patricia chose the Beijing pork with chao chao rice, a dish so flavorful that I couldn’t resist stealing a few bites. It rivaled my duck in its richness and complexity, and it left us both debating which of the two dishes had truly won the evening. To finish, we ordered a crème brûlée. At first glance, it seemed like the classic French dessert, but one bite revealed its surprise—a matcha base. Though unexpected, the earthiness of the matcha worked beautifully with the caramelized sugar topping, providing a satisfying end to the meal. Beyond the food, what struck us was how much care had gone into every aspect of the experience. From the meticulous preparation of each dish to the unhurried attention of the staff, Mr. Zhang is a place that respects the act of dining. Even the pricing felt considerate: wines starting at €25 a bottle and a menu that offers high quality without the exorbitance often found near such tourist-heavy areas. As we left, the bustle of the 16th arrondissement returned to greet us, but it felt far removed from the tranquility of Mr. Zhang. This is not just a restaurant; it’s a space that reminds you of the joy of slowing down, of savoring, of sharing a moment with good food and good company. Rating: 4/5 Mr. Zhang is one of the most memorable dining experiences we had in Paris. While not perfect, its exquisite food, thoughtful service, and serene atmosphere make it a standout choice near the Arc de Triomphe. If you’re in the area, don’t hesitate—this is a meal worth lingering over.
